

santos Arrué
Santos Arrué is a Guatemalan-Honduran-American writer/director born and raised in Los Angeles. With a B.F.A from CalArts and an M.F.A from the AFI Conservatory in Directing, her work explores identity, foreignness, displacement, and community. Her short thesis film "Azul", made in collaboration with The Lady Lowriders Car Club of Los Angeles and has screened at LALIFF and the New York Latino Film Festival. A Tomorrow’s Filmmakers Today Fellow, her short “Azul” was awarded the Audience Award for Best Short Film at the Hola Mexico Film Festival. Santos is currently developing her first feature film, How to Stop the Sky from Wanting, which was a 2025 Cine Qua Non Storylines Lab participant. The project was also a finalist for Sundance Collab’s Cultural Impact Residency.
