santos Arrué

Writer | Director

Santos Arrué is a writer/director born and raised in Los Angeles to Guatemalan and Honduran parents. She holds a BFA in Film/Video from CalArts and is a recent MFA graduate for Directing at the American Film Institute Conservatory. As a writer/director she is passionate about amplifying stories surrounding connection, community and dislocation, often centering experience of displacement. With each film, Arrué explores the multiplicity of identity, foreignness and language. Arrué's short film EN CASAS AJENAS, a portrait about her mother and domestic work was screened at the Cine+Mas San Francisco Latino Film Festival. Santos Arrué was also a Finalist for the Sundance Ignite X Adobe Fellowship.
