Santos Arrué is a Guatemalan Honduran writer/director born and raised in Los Angeles. She holds a B.F.A from CalArts and an M.F.A from the AFI Conservatory in Directing. Arrué's work often explores identity, foreignness, displacement, and community. Her short thesis film "Azul" was made in collaboration with The Lady Lowriders Car Club of Los Angeles and will be premiering at the 24th edition of the Los Angeles Latino International Film Festival (LALIFF). She was a finalist for the writer/director track of Sundance Collab’s Cultural Impact Residency honoring social justice leader Michael Latt. Arrué is currently working on developing her first feature film titled How to Stop the Sky From Wanting at the 2025 Cine Qua Non Storylines Lab.
